Casablanca

Casablanca or the Dar Al Baidaa, the white house in the Arabic language is the largest city in Morocco and the commercial capital of the kingdom. The city is located 80 kilometers to the south of Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
The Moroccan government has given special attention to Casablanca starting from the beginning of the 20th century and the city has transformed into one of the richest cities in Africa.
The history of Casablanca states that the city, by all masseurs, is rather new in comparison to other cities in the kingdom like Fes or Marrakesh that were established in ancient times hundreds of years in the past. However, some archeological discoveries have proved that some districts of the city date back to the end of the stone ages and some other historical locations that go back to five million years.      
Casa, as the Moroccans like to call it, is one of the most interesting cities located on the Atlantic Ocean. The city is located less than two hours away from Europe and eight hours by plane from the United States Eastern shores. Casablanca is considered to be the commercial center of Morocco where 60% of the companies operating in the kingdom.
Great differences can be noticed in the various districts and neighborhoods of Casablanca. This is because the city, as a large trading center, has attracted many people from different social classes to settle and coexist side by side in the same city. There are some neighborhoods in Casablanca like “California” where the guests feel it was cut out of Europe and pasted inside Africa and in particularly inside the city of Casablanca visited by many Europeans and Americans who come to have their holidays in Morocco.
Casablanca is the most noisy and crowded among all the Moroccan cites and it has the highest rate of population density among all regions of Morocco according to the statistics carried out in 2004 that indicated that the city hosts more than four million inhabitants. However, some other unofficial estimations state that the actual population of Casablanca exceeds six million people.
