The Valley of the Kings

The Pharaohs of the New Kingdom, beginning from the 20th dynasty, started to hide their tombs in one of the highest mountains of the West Bank of Luxor. This ancient necropolis hosts the tombs of more than 30 kings of ancient Egypt. Today many tourists who travel to Egypt explore the wonders of the Valley of the Kings.

The Valley of the Kings is often included in many Egypt travel packages. This is because the tombs have colorful wall paintings that seem as if they were created a few years ago, not more than 3000 years as they were in fact made!

The discovery of the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun and his astonishing golden belongings by Howard Carter in 1922 gave the site a new dimension of importance and glory especially that the tomb was discovered intact as it was constructed more than 30 centuries in the past. This is a must see for any tourists who travel to Egypt
