The St. Basils Cathedral in Russia

The St. Basil’s Cathedral is one of the most popular landmarks of Moscow. This distinctive Orthodox Church is situated in the Red Square. Several travel packages to Russia would explore visits to the Red Square, the Tomb of Lenin, and the famous Cathedral.

Due to its matchless design, and marvelous ornaments, the St. Basil's Cathedral in Russia was included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Another interesting fact about this astonishing establishment is that it was constructed to honor the battles won by Ivan, who was nicknamed as Ivan the Terrible around the middle of the 16th century.

The remarkable central nave is surrounded by nine chapels. Four of these chapels are supposedly built in the route between heaven and earth. The cathedral never obtained its unique bright colored exterior except at the beginning of the 17th century. Today, many travelers who enjoy their holiday in Russia visit the cathedral as part of their tours.
