The Reformation Wall in Switzerland

The Reformation Wall or the International Monument to the Reformation is located in Geneva, the capital of Switzerland. This remarkable monument celebrates the period of reformation of the protestants. Today a visit to the Reformation Wall is added in many travel packages to Switzerland.

Featured with many bas-reliefs and statues, the Reformation Wall documents many events and characters who participated in this reformation stage. Located inside the University of Geneva, the wall also symbolizes the role Switzerland played in this significantly important reformation process.

Many travelers who tour Switzerland commonly visit the university to admire the Reformation Wall. Constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, more than 70 proposals from around the world were submitted to build this wall which was opened in 1909.
