The Historical Site of Kuelap in Peru

Kuelap is among the most interesting and distinctive historical sites of Peru. Dating back to more than 1500 years ago, it used to host more than 5000 people during the 6th and 7th centuries.

Featured with its unique location at the top of a mountain that is more than 3 kilometers in height, Kuélap is situated at the District of Tingo near the Amazons. Many travel packages to Peru include a visit to this ancient site.

With a surface area of around 6 acres, Kuélap was an establishment that used to have distinctive fortified walls that were more than 500 meters long and 100 meters wide. Today, there are actually more than   500 structures today in the site.
