The Grand Egyptian Museum

Located near the Giza Pyramids, the most popular attraction of Egypt, the Grand Egyptian Museum is established to be the largest museum in the whole world and to substitute the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities located in Tahrir Square.

The museum is to host more than 100,000 pieces of ancient Egyptian antiquities from various periods like the Prehistoric, Pharaonic, and Greco Roman eras. The new Grand Egyptian Museum is designed to welcome more than five million travelers who tour Egypt every year.

Since the museum would be located near the Giza Pyramids, it was designed in the shape of triangles with each triangle divided into smaller triangles and so on. The surface area of the museum is more than 100,000 square meters with 45,000 specified for displays. The rest include a restoration center, parking lots, shops, restaurants, and many other facilities.
