The Arzaq Castle in Jordon

Arzaq is one of the historical castles of Jordon. Located around 100 kilometers to the East of Amman, the Arzaq Castle was established more than 1000 years ago by the Nabateans. In the 13th century, the Mamluks restored it. Today, it is one of the highlights many tourists who travel to Jordon are keen to visit.

With is huge rectangle shape, 72 meters and 80 meters, the Arzaq Castle was built out of stones. It consisted of three floors, a water well, a mosque, many chambers, towers, prison, and many other preserved sections. A lot of travelers who tour Jordon visit Jordon for its wonderful historical monuments.

The castle was distinguished by its unique location near the oasis with stable sources of water. This is why the Nabateans and afterwards the Romans took it as a stronghold and to protect the area against any outer invasions.
