Located at the Kremlin, the Armory Museum of Moscow is among the most ancient in Russia. Founded in 1851 as museum, the building used to serve as a storage place for weapons and jewelry beginning from the 16th century. Today many tourists who travel to Russia enjoy their visit to the museum.
Other than various weapons, the Kremlin Armory now houses a distinctive collection of fine arts. Gathered from various regions inside Russia and all over Europe, these applied arts cover a period that extends for more than 15 centuries.
Other interesting displays of the museum include golden dinning tools, ornamented with diamonds, imperial carriages, historical clocks, and of course a huge collection of shields, swords, and various weapons. The Armory of the Kremlin is considered a marvelous illustration of the history of Russia.
