A scenic drive through the Arve valley will take you from Geneva to Chamonix, Francelocated at the foot of the Mont-Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. During your guided heritage walk around Chamonix, one of Europes top skiing destinations, explore historic buildings and churches laced with the baroque and art deco style. Then take an exhilarating cable car up to Aiguille du Midi at 12605 feet for breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding Alps. Please bring warm clothing, sunglasses and sunscreen. |Lake Geneva Cruise & Yvoire
Relax and watch the magnificent landscapes glide by aboard an elegant lake steamer on beautiful Lake of Geneva. Passing by rolling hillsides and climbing vineyard, cross over to the French shore of the lake and visit the medieval village of Yvoire. Well known for its medieval buildings and majestic flower displays during the summer season, Yvoire is a setting right out of a romantic period novel. Since it can only be visited on foot the only people that can drive in the medieval village are residents you will be able to freely stroll through the narrow streets lined with picturesque houses and watch the marina life from one of its port-side cafés. Today is at leisure for individual explorations, or join the optional tour to Berne, the capital of Switzerland. The medieval air of this city with its many fountains, sandstone facades, narrow streets and historic towers is unique. Stroll along the beautifully preserved cobblestone streets of the Old Town and visit the Zytglogge*, a landmark medieval clock tower built in the early 13th century. View the house where Albert Einstein lived and wrote the Theory of Relativity. Admire the House of Parliament, boasting stunning views of the majestic Bernese Alps. Free time for lunch on your own. Return to Lucerne later in the afternoon
|Mount Pilatus Tour
Leave Lucerne to ascend the worlds steepest cogwheel railway which winds up through lush meadows carpeted with Alpine flowers, past sparkling mountain streams and fascinating rock faces. After admiring splendid views of the Bernese Oberland and the snow capped Swiss peaks from the summit at nearly 7000 feet, descend by aerial cableway and a panoramic gondola back to your waiting bus.
