|Full Day Hiroshima & Miyajima
Spend a day exploring the historical highlights of Hiroshima and discovering the idyllic Miyajima Island on this tour from Osaka. Depart from Shin-Osaka station on board the bullet train for your ride to Hiroshima. Upon arrival, visit the Hiroshima Memorial Park, a historical site near where the atomic bomb exploded. See exhibitions that show the carnal destruction the bomb caused and marvel at how the city recovered. Take a moment to reflect on the heartbreaking history of the region. Continue to the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome), a structure that miraculously survived the 1945 attack. Afterwards, board a ferry to the majestic Miyajima Island, an area known as one of Japan’s most beautiful landscapes. Enjoy a full day tour to Mt. Fuji and Hakone, the most famous National Park and resort area in Japan. Set amidst the scenic volcanic mountains and wooded forests of Mt. Fujis Five Lakes region on Lake Ashi, Hakone is renowned for its hot springs, outdoor sports, and natural beauty. Drive halfway up Mt. Fuji to the Fifth Station where, depending upon the weather, you will enjoy panoramic views of the park and lake below. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant nearby. Afterwards, drive to Hakone for a relaxing cruise on Lake Ashi. After your cruise, ride an aerial cableway up and down Mt. Komagatake for sweeping views of the surrounding scenery (time and weather permitting). Return to Tokyo via deluxe motorcoach. (L). Visit the Toshogu Shrine, the mausoleum of the first Tokugawa Shogun, a gorgeous complex of colorful structures featuring the superb craftsmanship of Japans 17th-century artisans. Stop for an authentic Japanese-style lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, enjoy a scenic motorcoach ride up the mountain via the hairpin turns of the Irohazaka Driveway. Arrive at Lake Chuzenji, which is located at the foot of Mt. Nantai, and is known for its extraordinary depth (529 ft.). Next, visit Kegon Waterfall, one of three mystical waterfalls in Japan.
