The Ephesus Archaeological Museum in Turkey

Situated in Selçuk near İzmir, near the city of Azmir in Turkey, the Ephesus Archaeological Museum hosts displays mainly from the ruins of the ancient Temple of Artemis. There are also some other archeological findings from the ancient town of Ephesus.

The museum is one of the main attractions in the area that welcomes many tourists who visit Turkey. Many exhibits are also from the Coptic era in the country including some displays from the Basilica of St. John.  The museum witnessed a period of restoration for 2 years from 2012 till 2014.

The most remarkable feature of the museum is that it exhibits the most significant artifacts from the ancient town of Ephesus which had the most glorious periods in the 2nd century BC under the rule of the Romans. There are many marble statues, stone capitals, and wall decorations. Many tourists who spend their vacations in Turkey are interested in the heritage of the country.
