Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1: Saturday - Depart the USA
Depart the USA for Southern Italy Tour. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.
DAY 2: Sunday - Arrive in Rome
Arrive in Rome and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. This evening, enjoy an orientation meeting for your Southern Italy Tour with your tour escort, followed by a welcome dinner. ( D )
DAY 3: Monday - Optional Tour, Rome
This morning, begin your Southern Italy Tour with a historic tour of "ancient Rome" takes you to the Roman Forum, the political center during the Roman Republic, the triumphal Arch of Constantine, the Arch of Titus and the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater built in the Roman Empire.

Afternoon enjoy at leisure or choose our OPTIONAL Tour (Piazzas of Rome) This half day walking tour takes you to explore the grand piazzas of the Eternal City. Stand in awe in front of the majestic Spanish Steps, the longest and widest decorative steps in Europe, and with your local guide stroll through the most characteristic "piazzas and vias " of Rome. Stop to admire the breathtaking grandeur of the Trevi Fountain and take the opportunity to toss in one, two, or three coins, each of which is supposed to bring a unique kind of good fortune. View the monumental Pantheon, the best preserved of any Roman building and admire the baroque Piazza Navona, which follows the shape of the ancient Roman Diocletian Stadium, with Berninis Fountain of the Four Rivers and the Egyptian Obelisk. DAY 4: Tuesday - Optional Tour , Rome
Today begins with the visit to the Vatican Museums and Michelangelos breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Stroll through St. Peters Square, passing Berninis famous colonnade, to visit St. Peters Basilica, where you will view Michelangelos Pieta. This highly-finished marble sculpture depicts the body of Jesus in the arms of Mary after the Crucifixion, and was created for the funeral monument of French cardinal Jean de Billheres.

Afternoon free at leisure or choose our OPTIONAL Tour (Dinner with Musical Entertainment & Illuminated Drive) Your evening includes a four-course dinner with delightful entertainment, and unlimited wine, culminating with an illuminated tour of Rome by night. DAY 5: Wednesday - Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento
Drive south, passing by the famous Monte Cassino Abbey, founded by St. Benedict of Norcia in 529. Destroyed on four separate occasions, it was last rebuilt after being the site of fierce fighting during the Second World War. View Mt. Vesuvius in passing the Bay of Naples, before reaching Pompeii. Visit the ruins of this best preserved Roman city, including the Temples of Apollo and Jupiter, and the Forum. Continue to Sorrento. ( B, D )
DAY 6: Thursday - Optional Tour, Sorrento
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Sorrento or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Full Day Capri) Enjoy a full day journey to the colorful Isle of Capri by boat. Visit the lovely Anacapri and explore the charming shops and chic boutiques as you stroll the islands narrow streets. Continue to see "La Piazzetta," the social heart of the island, on your way to the open-air Gardens of Augustus, from where you will appreciate breathtaking views of the famous Faraglioni rocks. Tour includes: local guide, round trip transportation to port, round trip transportation by fast boat, minibus or cable car transportation on the island. Pickup details to be advised locally. Tonight enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. ( B, D )
DAY 7: Friday - Scenic Amalfi Drive
Today, enjoy panoramic views of the enchanting towns along the scenic Amalfi Coast. Pass the distinctive white Moorish homes of Positano on this legendary road overlooking the Mediterranean, to reach the coastal town of Amalfi: a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ( B )
DAY 8: Saturday - Depart for the USA
Transfer to the airport in Naples for your departure flight. ( B )
