Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1: Thursday - Depart USA
Depart the USA for France. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for the journey.
DAY 2: Friday - Arrive in Paris
Arrive and transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. This evening, enjoy an orientation meeting with your tour escort, followed by a welcome dinner. ( D )
DAY 3: Wednesday - Athens, Optional Half Day Tour
Free morning at leisure or choose our optional tour (Half Day Athens Sightseeing). The tour begins with a panoramic drive through the city center of Athens. View Panathenian Stadium, the Presidential Residence, the ruins of the Temple of Zeus and Hadrians Arch. Continue on to visit the Acropolis, the ancient architectural masterpiece built during the Golden Age of Athens. Finally, visit the new Acropolis Museum, the striking modern building built at the base of the monument where many of the original statues from the Acropolis are now displayed. Departs at 8:45 a.m. Pick-up from hotel approximately 30-60 minutes prior to departure time. Tour ends at hotel. ( B )
DAY 3: Saturday - Optional Tours, Paris
This morning enjoy a guided city tour of Paris, the City of Light, including a drive along the Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe. View the Eiffel Tower, Cathedral of Notre Dame, Napoleons Tomb, the Latin Quarter, and the lively Opera district. Afternoon at leisure to explore the countless museums, such as the Louvre and Orsay, relax in the Luxembourg gardens or shop in the capital of fashion.

Optional: (Versailles Apartments) Relive the glorious period of Louis XIV, XV and XVI as you pace one of the largest and most influential formal gardens in the world. Todays tour takes you Versailles Palace to witness the grandeur of French classical architecture. Visit the Palace and extravagant State Apartments, including a guided visit to the Reception Halls, the Queens Bedroom, and the Hall of Mirrors. You will also have time to walk the palace grounds and formal gardens, designed by Andre le Notre, at your leisure. This tour follows the included morning tour of Paris. Following a short break at the hotel, we will proceed immediately to Versailles where there will be time for lunch on your own before entering Versailles. At the end of the tour, return to your hotel(PM)

Optional: (Seine Cruise + Illuminated Paris Drive with Dinner) The evening starts with a unique view of Paris enjoying a leisurely cruise on the River Seine aboard a panoramic boat. Then enjoy the traditional atmosphere and music while being served delicious specialties and unlimited wine in a typical Parisian restaurant. As night falls the City of Lights begins to sparkle as we drive back to the hotel, viewing Concorde Square, the Louvre and its glass pyramid, and of course the Eiffel Tower. Pick-up details to be advised locally. ( B )

DAY 4: Sunday - Travel to Geneva, Switzerland via Beaune
After breakfast depart Paris and drive east, through Burgundy vineyards and peaceful French countryside. The highway signs read like a wine menu, Chablis, Nuits St. Georges, and then Beaune, where we stop to admire this charming town and some tasting Later in the day cross the border into Switzerland and arrive in Geneva, sandwiched between nearby Alps, the hilly terrain of the Jura and the banks of Lake Leman. On arrival drive to see the International institutions which have made Geneva home, including the World Health Organisation, the United Nations and the International Red Cross. Admire the flower clock, Reformation monument and the Jet deau - the citys landmark fountain. ( B )
DAY 5: Monday - Optional Tour, Geneva
Enjoy a full day at leisure or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Full Day Chamonix & Mont Blanc) A scenic drive through the Arve valley will take you from Geneva to Chamonix, Francelocated at the foot of the Mont-Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. During your guided heritage walk around Chamonix, one of Europes top skiing destinations, explore historic buildings and churches laced with the baroque and art deco style. Then take an exhilarating cable car up to Aiguille du Midi at 12605 feet for breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding Alps. *Please bring warm clothing, sunglasses and sunscreen. Departure details to be advised by your tour director. to explore this city, situated where the Rhone river flows out of the huge lake. Take a walk along the lively streets in the old town, stroll the mile-long promenade around the lake or just relax in one of Geneva’s many parks and enjoy the beautiful scenery. DAY 6: Tuesday - Tour of Chillon Castle Enroute to Milan
Drive along the shores of Lake Geneva past the towns of Lausanne and Montreux and through beautiful vineyard region to the landmark castle of Chillon. Originally built in the 9th century to protect one of the main roads to the Great St. Bernard pass to Italy, it’s rich history and distinctive appearance has served as inspiration to such literary greats as Lord Byron and Victor Hugo. Explore the turrets, corridors, and vaulted dungeons on a guided tour. Then, drive up the mighty mountain pass and through the Saint Bernard tunnel into Italy and the city of Milan. ( B )
DAY 7: Wednesday - Milan City Tour, Travel to Venice
Today begins with a panoramic tour of Milan. Start the tour of the city at Sforza Castle, then proceed to Duomo Cathedral Square and walk the Victor Emmanuel Galleria, a pedestrian mall built in the 1800s, featuring a large arched glass ceiling. Continue to Venice. ( B, D )
DAY 8: Thursday - Optonal Tour, Venice
Today begins with a boat ride to the Island of Murano, known throughout the world for its fine glasswork industry. Then, visit St. Marks Square to begin a guided walking tour of romantic Venice. View the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs and visit the Doges Palace, whose facade features a massive late-Gothic gate, known as the Porta della Carta. Take the remainder of the day to explore Venice on your own or you can choose our OPTIONAL tour (Gondola Ride with Music). One of the highlights of any Italian holiday Enjoy a relaxing gondola ride with music along the famous Grand Canal, and experience a piece of Venetian history. Glide along the centuries old canals, past lavish palaces and under famous arched bridges (the Gondola holds a maximum of six passengers. Please note that this is not a private gondola ride). ( B )
DAY 9: Friday - Pisa Sightseeing En Route to Florence
Travel through the stunning panorama of Tuscany to Pisa. On arrival, view the famous Piazza del Miracoli with its Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, the Duomo, and the Monumental Cemetery. The four monuments of this extraordinary piazza make for a unique architectural blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. En route to Florence, visit a local Tuscan farm in the countryside for a wine tasting with local specialties. Evening at leisure. ( B )
DAY 10: Saturday - Florence City Tour
Todays morning tour begins with a visit to the Accademia of Fine Arts, where Michelangelos David is housed. Walk to the Duomo, celebrated for its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi, and view the Baptisterys renowned "Gates of Paradise" by Ghiberti. Continue to explore the open air art museum of Signoria Square ending at Ponte Vecchio, known as the "Old Bridge." Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in Florence. This evening, dine in an authentic Tuscan restaurant in the countryside

Florence and the fine arts are synonymous. This guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery provides insight to the history of the structure and its collections. Originally the private collection of the Medici family, the palazzo was opened to the public in 1765. Your tour highlights exceptional examples of Florentine painting with an aim to help you better understand the works of masters including Giotto, Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci. Following the tour, enjoy a refreshment break and complimentary beverage at the museums cafe, which features a breathtaking view of the city. DAY 11: Sunday - Optional Tour, Florence
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Florence on your own or you can choose our OPTIONAL tour (Full Day Siena & San Gimignano from Florence) Depart Florence and drive to the medieval city of Siena, site of the famous Horserace of Palio. This traditional race takes place each year on July 2nd and August 16th, and runs in celebration of the holy apparition and assumption of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the city. Tour Campo Square and St. Dominics Church before continuing to the medieval walled town of San Gimignano, famous for its preserved stone towers. Visit one of the numerous museums, palaces or shops or just wander the streets and immerse yourself in the simple pleasures of one of Italy’s most beautiful cities. ( B )
DAY 12: Monday - Sun Route Via Assisi to Rome
Today travel along the famous "Sun Route" motorway to the medieval city of Assisi, renowned for its 13th-century Basilica of St. Francis and Giottos frescoes. Continue to your hotel in Rome. ( B, D )
DAY 13: Tuesday - Optional Tour, Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel
Today begins with the visit to the Vatican Museums and Michelangelos breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Stroll through St. Peters Square, passing Berninis famous colonnade, to visit St. Peters Basilica, where you will view Michelangelos Pieta. This highly-finished marble sculpture depicts the body of Jesus in the arms of Mary after the Crucifixion and is considered to be among the most compelling of all works of art in the Western world. Afternoon and evening at leisure or you can choose our OPTIONAL tour (Piazzas of Rome). This half day walking tour takes you to explore the grand piazzas of the Eternal City. Stand in awe in front of the majestic Spanish Steps, the longest and widest decorative steps in Europe, and with your local guide stroll through the most characteristic "piazzas and vias " of Rome. Stop to admire the breathtaking grandeur of the Trevi Fountain and take the opportunity to toss in one, two, or three coins, each of which is supposed to bring a unique kind of good fortune. View the monumental Pantheon, the best preserved of any Roman building and admire the baroque Piazza Navona, which follows the shape of the ancient Roman Diocletian Stadium, with Berninis Fountain of the Four Rivers and the Egyptian Obelisk. DAY 14: Wednesday - Tour Ancient Rome
This morning, a historic tour of "ancient Rome" takes you to the Roman Forum, the political center during the Roman Republic, the triumphal Arch of Constantine, the Arch of Titus and the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater built in the Roman Empire. Afternoon at leisure. Tonight, dine in a typical Roman restaurant with wine and music, then enjoy an illuminated tour of the city. ( B, D )
DAY 15: Thursday - Depart for the USA
