Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1: Saturday - Depart USA
Depart the USA to China. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.
DAY 2: Sunday - Arrive Beijing
Arrive in Beijing and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure.
DAY 3: Monday - Forbidden City & Summer Palace Tour
Enjoy a full day tour of the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. Begin at Tiananmen Square, the largest public plaza in the world. Erected in 1417 at the height of the Ming Dynasty, the square was renovated and renamed two centuries later at the onset of the Great Qing Dynasty. View several impressive monuments outlining the Squares perimeter, including the Great Hall of the People, the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong and the Squares famed ceremonial gateway. From here, venture north for a visit to the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace), a construction comparable to the Pyramids in Egypt. Known today as the Palace Museum, the entire site is comprised of 800 buildings with more than 9,000 rooms. Visit a local Pearl Shop before a visit to the Summer Palace. Lunch will be served at an authentic Chinese restaurant during the Summer Palace visit. ( B, L )
DAY 4: Tuesday - Optional Tour, Beijing
Enjoy a full-day excursion to the Great Wall of China, the longest man-made structure on Earth, spanning nearly 4,000 miles of Chinas northern frontier. Stop at a local Jade Shop before arriving to the Great Wall. Walk along the promenades and enjoy the unrivaled scenic views of beautiful mountain passes, plateaus and grasslands from this 7th-century defensive fortification. Afterwards, depart for lunch at a local Chinese restaurant. Following lunch, a brief stop at the Beijing Olympic village.

Toninght free at your leisure or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Peking Duck Dinner) The Peking Duck Dinner has the reputation of being the most culturally famous meal in China. It is a must to experience during your visit to the country. Enjoy the culinary presentation as the chef roasts the duck directly over the fire and then slices the meat tableside. The duck is served with very thin pancakes, Chinese onions and special sauce. ( B, L )

DAY 5: Wednesday - Optional Tour, Flight to Xian
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Later this afternoon, trace the beginnings of Chinese civilization at the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. Opened to the public in 1991, the museum is in southern Xian, and is home to a wealth of historical artifacts and treasures from the Han and Tang dynasties.

Toninght free or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Dumpling Dinner) This evening, enjoy a delicious dumpling banquet featuring nearly 20 varieties of jiaozi, or dumplings, stuffed with an assortment of vegetables, meats, and seafood. The traditional banquet also includes rice wine and bronze hot pot soup. Transfers to and from your hotel included. ( B, L )

DAY 6: Thursday - Optional Tours
This morning, after breakfast you will have the opportunity to visit Xingqing Park. Filled with culture, this local park is a hub of activity in the morning. You may witness and have the chance to participate in morning exercise, singing, and dancing. Later this morning visit to a local Lacquer Furniture Shop. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant before a tour of Xians antiquities. Your tour includes the archaeological site at the tomb of Chinas first emperor, Qin Shi Huang (259-210 B.C.), where more than 8,000 finely sculpted, life-size terracotta soldiers and horses were discovered by local farmers in 1974. The archaeological excavation of the three pits where the Terracotta Army was found continues today, more than thirty years since the time of its unearthing.

Tonight free or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Tang Dynasty Dinner & Show) Dine on Imperial set menu of 6 hot courses. All while you enjoy the beat of Chang an music. After dinner, enjoy the celebrated Tang Dynasty show, a one-thousand-year-old dance performed by the passionate Tang Dynasty Troupe. This historical performance is a national art, reflective of the glory and richness of Chinas Tang Dynasty. Transfers to and from your hotel included. ( B, L )

DAY 7: Friday - Flight to Chengdu
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Chengdu. Upon arrival, visit Jinli Street, whose shops, tea houses, and buildings are modeled after the ancient architectural style which dates back to the Qin Dynasty. Later, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. ( B, L, D )
DAY 8: Saturday - Optional Tour, Chengdu Panda Center to Mt. E Mei
This morning, travel to see Chengdus most famous attraction – panda bears. Due to many factors, including habitat destruction, pandas have become an endangered species. This unique experience allows you to visit the Chengdu Panda Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a facility dedicated to the preservation and protection of the pandas, in addition to educating the public about these majestic animals. Housing more than 80 giant pandas, the center is one of the largest panda breeding facilities in the world. Visit the centers Giant Panda Museum and learn about the conservation effort and the depth of research conducted at the center, or choose to participate in an optional panda feeding. After lunch, depart for Le Shan. Here you will visit the Leshan Stone Buddha. Approximately 230 feet tall and dating back to 713 AD, this enormous statue is carved out of solid rock right on the cliff face of a mountain, with a river running at its feet. Later, head to Mount E Mei, one of the four most sacred Buddhist mountains in China.

This morning, enjoy the opportunity to learn about one of Chinas most amazing and endangered species the giant panda, considered to be a Chinese national treasure. This excursion is conducted at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a leader in the conservation of Chinas most famous wild animal. Built to mimic the pandas environment in the wild, the center houses more than 80 pandas. After your introductory tour at the research center with the entire group, participants will enjoy a private orientation meeting with trained educators and keepers, where you will learn more about these majestic animals’ behavior, diet and efforts to conserve them. You will also be able to contribute to the preservation of the giant panda by assisting their keepers with bathing, food preparation, feeding, and cleaning up after these marvelous animals. This optional tour is an intimate experience with wild animals, which may involve getting dirty. We suggest dressing accordingly. Please note that the Chengdu Research Base has limited space for groups and enforces a maximum of 20 people allowed for this Giant Panda Experience optional tour. This is only available for pre-purchase and you will not be able to buy locally. ( B, L, D )

DAY 9: Sunday - Emei
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing at Mount E Mei. This mountain is endowed with majestic natural beauty, as well as mysterious legendary relics associated with Buddhism and Taoism. Your tour includes a cable car ride up the mountain to the Golden Summit for a beautiful panoramic view of the area, and the Huazang Temple. On your cable car ride down the mountain, be on the lookout for groups of wild monkeys After lunch, head back to Chengdu for dinner at a local restaurant. ( B, L, D )
DAY 10: Monday - Flight to Shanghai
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure.

Evening free at your leisure or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Shanghai by Night with dinner) Depart for dinner in a local restaurant. After the dinner, drive to the pier near the Bund waterfront to board a ship for a 40 minute cruise on the Huangpu River, the mother river of Shanghai. Witness the 200 years of Colonial history. You will see European style buildings on one side of the river and the futuristic skyline of Shanghai on the other side. After the cruise, experience an exciting drive through the citys wall of buildings to witness this thriving capital of the Far East. Transfers to and from your hotel included ( B, L )

DAY 11: Tuesday - Shanghai City Tour
Yunduan. The Gardens total area occupies approximately five acres, and features pavilions, ponds, rockeries, cloisters, and streams all within six scenic zones, including the Sansui Hall and Wanhua Chamber. In existence for 400 years, the Gardens were specifically constructed for Pans aging parents as a sanctuary in which to live out their lives. Next, experience the old world charm of the Bund, the former "Wall Street" of the foreign powers. Walk along its park-like waterfront promenade between the Wusong River and Old Town. Later today, enjoy a stop at a local silk carpet factory. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

Evening free or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Acrobatic Show with dinner) Having undergone thousands of years of evolution, the Shanghai acrobatic arts has now blossomed into a unique style. The Shanghai Circus death-deifiers will amaze and astound you with their high-flying versatility, fearlessness, and flexibility. This evening, enjoy a world-class performance that includes dance, magic, acrobatics and beautiful music after dinner at local restaurant. Transfers to and from your hotel included.
